My partner, Ellen, has been having issues with her iPhone apps. She details her issues here. As it turns out, the problem for Ellen and numerous other iPhone and iPad users came from a DRM glitch that the app store was experiencing. DRM stands for digital rights management. Various companies use different types of DRM in their efforts to prevent pirating of their content and software.
Apparently the problem began on Wednesday and caused a substantial amount of frustration to many app store users. The problem impacted about 100 apps. The apps would repeatedly crash whenever some tried to run them. Unfortunately, if you had the problem your frustrations aren’t quite over. You now need to reinstall any affected apps.
