About Jennifer Ellis
Jennifer Ellis is a Pennsylvania attorney and legal technology consultant whose work focuses on ethics, law practice management, and the practical use of technology in legal practice. She works with lawyers and legal organizations on technology selection and implementation, website and content strategy, professional responsibility issues, and continuing legal education programming. She frequently speaks and writes on legal ethics, cybersecurity, and the use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, in legal practice.
How I Work
My work emphasizes clarity, accuracy, and ethical judgment, particularly where technology and law intersect. I help lawyers and legal organizations evaluate tools and practices realistically, without hype or false confidence — including the use of artificial intelligence. I am direct, practical, and willing to say when something does not work or is not a good idea. I limit my engagements and work best with professionals who value careful analysis over reassurance.
Background and Experience
Jennifer has more than 25 years of experience at the intersection of law, technology, and legal education. She has worked closely with bar associations and legal education organizations at the state and national level, including serving as founding co-chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s technology committee and on multiple ABA boards. She has planned, developed, and presented CLE programs for lawyers at all stages of practice, and is the author of an ABA publication on law firm websites.
Her work is grounded in real-world experience with solo practitioners and small firms, where time, resources, and ethical risk must be balanced carefully. She focuses on practical solutions that fit the realities of legal practice, rather than aspirational or marketing-driven approaches.
Engagements and Availability
For health and workload reasons, Jennifer limits the number of clients and projects she takes on at any given time. She does not accept every engagement and prefers to work with clients who are looking for thoughtful, candid guidance rather than generalized advice.
