PowerPoint and Videos from Presentation to PA MDJs in June 2026

On June 9, 2026, I am speaking to Pennsylvania Magisterial District Justices on the subject of Artificial Intelligence. My presentation covers 3 basic concepts:

  • Hallucinations, what they are and how to handle them.
  • How to use AI to increase the efficiency of the courts (including warnings about agentic AI and privacy/confidentiality concerns).
  • Managing pro se litigants who are frequently using AI in court.

The videos embedded below are the three demonstration videos I used to show how an MDJ can use AI in their courts. In order they are:

  • Filling out a form from a decision made by an MDJ
  • Summarizing a document submitted by a party
  • Creating scripts for court staff to answer common questions

The data used in the first two videos is fake, completely created by AI. There is no actual confidential or personal information contained within any of these videos. There is no sound in the videos.

This video shows Claude completing a MDJ form. I had Claude copy the style of the form that PA MDJs actually use.

This video shows a bad and a good prompt for summarizing a document from a party.

This final video shows Claude creating scripts for common questions those appearing in front of MDJs ask. It also shows Claude utilizing the Tioga County MDJ site to brand a Word document with the proper colors and logo.

Here is a PDF of the full PowerPoint.

Last, I have previously discussed the ladder of risk concept both in terms of lawyers and expert witnesses. I have now expanded it for judges. The full PDF I am handing out on the 9th is available here.
